UNHEARD YOUTH ACCESS PROGRAM

Talent is everywhere. Access isn't.
Center Stage Build Academy, Inc.'s Unheard Youth Access Program identifies young people who have the passion, creativity, and desire to pursue music but lack the financial resources, equipment, mentorship, or opportunities needed to develop their abilities.
Our focus is not on finding young people who already have access to instruments, private instruction, professional studios, or established industry connections. We seek the students who are often overlooked — young writers, singers, musicians, producers, and creators who have demonstrated genuine interest but have never been given the tools to see how far that interest could take them.
WHO WE SERVE
The program primarily serves youth ages 11–22, with an emphasis on middle- and high-school-aged students from underserved and economically disadvantaged communities.
Priority consideration is given to youth who:
Attend Title I schools or participate in community programs with limited or nonexistent music and arts funding.
Do not have reliable access to instruments, recording equipment, private instruction, or professional creative spaces.
Have demonstrated an existing interest in songwriting, singing, playing an instrument, music production, recording, performing, or another area of music creation.
Come from households where purchasing an instrument, paying for lessons, or accessing studio time may be financially out of reach.
Would benefit from positive mentorship, structure, encouragement, and connection to experienced musicians and creative professionals.
Demonstrate character, consistency, coachability, curiosity, and willingness to learn.
Academic performance alone is not used to determine a young person's potential.
We believe a student's circumstances or grades should not determine whether they are given an opportunity to discover what they are capable of becoming.
THE ACCESS GAP
For many young people, pursuing music stops before it ever begins.
A student may write songs but have no instrument.
They may have an instrument that is damaged and their family cannot afford to repair it.
They may sing every day but have never had a professional vocal lesson.
They may create music on a phone but have never experienced a recording studio.
They may possess extraordinary natural ability but have never had a mentor tell them that their talent is worth developing.
Center Stage Build Academy, Inc. exists to help close that gap.
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
Rather than assuming what a young person needs, Center Stage Build Academy, Inc. begins by listening.
We partner with schools, educators, youth organizations, community centers, nonprofits, churches, mentors, and other community leaders to identify promising young people who may benefit from the program.
Selected students participate in an introductory conversation where we learn about their interests, goals, current resources, and obstacles.
Together, we develop a personalized Creative Wishlist identifying the resources that could make the greatest difference in that student's development.
Depending upon individual need and available funding, support may include:
Musical instruments
Instrument repair or replacement
Accessories and equipment
Private music instruction
Songwriting mentorship
Vocal coaching
Music production education
Recording and studio time
Performance development
Creative technology and software
Industry mentorship
Workshops and educational experiences
Opportunities to collaborate with working musicians and professionals
Opportunities to perform, record, and share original work
CHARACTER OVER CIRCUMSTANCE
Center Stage Build Academy, Inc. is intentionally designed to look beyond traditional measures of achievement.
We are looking for young people who show up, want to learn, accept guidance, and have a genuine desire to create.
Some participants may be considered at-risk. Others may simply come from families or communities where music education is financially inaccessible.
What connects them is potential.
We want to reach the young person who could become the first person in their family to own an instrument, record an original song, work with a professional musician, or walk into a recording studio.
FROM WISHLIST TO IMPACT
Each student's Creative Wishlist gives Center Stage Build Academy, Inc. and its funding partners a tangible opportunity to make an immediate and measurable impact.
Instead of raising money around an abstract need, fundraising campaigns can be connected to specific resources and outcomes:
An instrument placed in a student's hands.
A broken guitar repaired.
A semester of lessons funded.
A young songwriter's first professional recording session.
A mentor paired with a student who has never had someone in the music industry believe in them.
These individual investments become measurable stories of access, development, confidence, and opportunity.
OUR LONG-TERM VISION
The Unheard Youth Access Program is designed to be replicable in communities across the country.
Center Stage Build Academy, Inc.'s long-term goal is to establish and build a working facility and network of community partners, professional musicians, studios, educators, donors, sponsors, and volunteers capable of identifying underserved creative youth and connecting them with meaningful resources.
As the program grows, Center Stage Build Academy, Inc. will track outcomes including youth served, instruments distributed or repaired, mentorship and instructional hours provided, studio hours awarded, songs and creative projects completed, performances achieved, and continued participation in music and arts education.
Ultimately, our measure of success is simple:
Find the young person with the passion.
Remove the barrier standing in their way.
Give them the tools, mentorship, and opportunity to discover what they can become.
